CallWatch User's Guide

Search

The search form allows you to do quick keyword searches of the CallWatch contact database.  Results of the search are given in the main contact form.

    Search box:
Enter keywords to search by. This can be a contact's name, company, e-mail address, URL etc. Word fragments and patterns can also be used. The search form initially contains a '*' character which allows you to enter just the beginning of a word to perform a search. For example 'Bea*' would find both 'Beagle' and 'Beagle Software' in your database.

      all fields
Search all fields in contact database. Use this setting to include fields not normally searched in the normal setting. This includes Street, City, St, Country, Zip and all phone numbers.

Hints:
Use '*' for pattern matching (i.e. a* will match with
a, abc, abcd, aXc )

Use  '?'  to match any single character (i.e. a?c will
match with abc, aXc, aYc).

You can set CallWatch to open with the search screen from the Options->Display settings tab. Generally, this is the more convenient way of using CallWatch once your database is set up.



Buttons:
      Search

Press to begin search. CallWatch constructs the query and returns the results in the contact form of the CallWatch database.
